A 28-year-old tyre-fitter, who murdered the husband of his lover, was arrested with two of his accomplices from the Capital. The three were on their way to a hideout in adjacent Uttar Pradesh, the police said on Saturday.
Ajay Chaudhary, additional commissioner of police (southeast) said the accused trio were identified as Parmanand, Neeraj Kumar and Mohanbir.
According to Chaudhary, the three were nabbed during routine checking in south Delhi's Mehrauli area. The officer said the trio had killed a man, Ashok — who hailed from Parmanand's village in Bhiwadi, Rajasthan — at the behest of the victim’s wife Monica with whom Parmanand had an affair.
“One day, Ashok saw the two in a compromising position and got Parmanand assaulted by his friends, in addition to threatening him. It was then that Monica asked Parmanand to get rid of Ashok,” Chaudhary said.
According to the police, the three strangled Ashok and then fled in his car to Bulandshahr.
