Almost three years after its establishment, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) is all set to get a proper office space for it's headquarter in the national capital and a pan India presence in the new year.

The NIA is going to occupy 5th and 6th floor in the New Delhi City Centre-II building of the New Delhi Municipal Council on Jai Singh Road in the heart of capital. "Renovation work is going on. We will soon shift in the new accommodation," said an NIA officer.

Earlier the organising panel of the Commonwealth games was operating out of the building. Now, besides the NIA, some other agencies under the home ministry will operate from there.

The NIA headquarter was working from temporary offices. Initially, the NIA operated from the a few rooms of government-owned Centaur Hotel near the IGI airport. Later, the headquarters shifted to its present location in Jasola district centre.

Besides, getting a proper headquarter, the NIA has also got approval for opening branch offices in Lucknow and Kochi to give it a pan India presence.
