A 35-year-old police informer was shot by two bike-borne assailants on Tuesday night in Mangolpuri area of outer Delhi. Police have attributed personal rivalry as the most likely motive behind the murder. The victim had been attacked earlier too.

Nagendar Kumar, a resident of P block of Mangolpuri, had come out of his house for a walk around 12:30am. “When returning home, two men on a bike stopped him. One of them got down and pumped bullets into his chest at point blank range,” a senior police officer said. Police said the assailants fired at least five-six rounds.

Kumar was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was declared brought dead. “His family informed us about the previous incident. On that basis, we have detained a few persons,” the officer added.

Police said a few months ago, he had been shot at by miscreants due to personal rivalry.
