Voted the best chicken eatery in America by both GQ and Esquire magazine, 4 Fingers Crispy Chicken's first outlets in India at the T3 terminal of the Delhi International Airport are drawing good crowds.
Conceptualised by four foodie friends, the 4 Fingers Crispy Chicken outlets at the Delhi Airport offer delicious chicken made using a secret recipe in a setting reminiscent of a New York subway, replete with graffiti, a company statement said.
While one outlet catering to international travellers opened in October, 2010, a second, serving domestic passengers, started functioning in December 2010, it said.
4 Fingers chicken took Singapore by storm in 2009.
In addition to the famous soy garlic and spicy flavour offered overseas, the outlets at the Delhi airport also offer options tailored to the Indian palate, like kim chi coleslaw, vegetable burgers and paneer wraps, it added.
Explaining the rationale for making a foray into India, Carl Kjellqvist, one of the 4 Fingers partners, said, "With tremendous growth in retail development and an increasing growing affluent middle class, India is one our target markets to expand."
The company plans to open more outlets in the country in phases, with Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chandigarh, Delhi and Chennai on the radar, a company official said from Four Fingers' headquarters at Singapore.
