Aiming to make a mark in the electoral politics of the Capital ahead of the Assembly elections later this year, Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) plans rallies across Delhi from Saturday.

A day after lambasting a supposed nexus between the Sheila Dikshit government and power discoms in Delhi vis-à-vis hikes in power bills, Kejriwal and his team are planning their first rally at Najafgarh in west Delhi to reveal why the price of water has risen 18 times in few years.

As many as 51 rallies will be held across wards, Assembly segments and even colleges, targeting youth, the primary chunk of voters that the party is targeting, from Saturday till March 17.

Earlier, too, Kejriwal and other AAP members had rallied on the issue of rising electricity bills and even went to the extent of restoring a severed power connection over unpaid bills. "We are (also) going ahead with our subject-wise committee meetings for policy formulations," an AAP official said.

More than three months after its launch, the AAP also claimed to have reached audiences across the country. "We have formed district-level teams in all states. In Delhi, we have formed teams at each ward level," the leader said.
