Senior Congress leader Abhishek Singhvi has been conferred with three academic honours and has also been invited to speak at a conclave of Nobel laureates in Fez, during the past two weeks.
He has been appointed Trumbull visiting guest lecturer at Yale (US), one of the world's leading academic institutions. The lectureship was earlier held by home minister P Chidambaram.
Accepting the honour, Singhvi said, “it felt good to receive something honoris causa after having earned one with blood, sweat and tears many years ago from Trinity College, Cambridge, UK.”
Singhvi had for the past three years chaired multi-party delegations of parliamentarians to Yale.
He was also been conferred two separate honourary doctorates by two Rajasthan-based varsities — Jain Viswa Bharati, founded by the world renowned Jain acharyas Tulsi and Mahapragya, and the Amity university.
The Congress leader has also been invited by the King of Morocco to speak at the conference of Nobel laureates in the first week of May. The conclave will discuss wide-ranging issues of global importance, including a shared world vision, health, education and cultural heritage.
