The man whom the police arrested for killing his neighbour by running his Scorpio over him thrice gave a slip to the police while being taken for a medical examination.

Pawan Kumar had killed Sanjeev Kumar for allegedly having a relationship with his wife. The murder was reported from Outer Delhi's Mangolpuri around 3 pm on Friday. The accused had reportedly shouted in jubilation after running over the victim, a senior police official said.

He was taken to Sanjay Gandhi Hospital from where he managed to give police the slip last night.

Pawan Kumar had waited outside the victim's house and then followed the victim's motorcycle in his Mahindra Scorpio SUV.

“Then he hit Sanjeev with his car. When he fell down, Pawan ran over the deceased at least thrice,” the official said. Sanjeev was pursing a teacher’s training course and was a resident of Kirari village.

Quoting some eyewitnesses, the official said, after knocking Sanjeev down, Pawan shouted, “I have won”.
