After the emergence of Aam Aadmi Party from the civil society movement, another group of aspiring leaders are set to form their political outfit, to be named Indian National Confederation, ahead of the 2014 Lok Sabha polls.

After years of civil society activity in different parts of the country, particularly in the field of human rights, the group claims to have support from several erstwhile Maharajas, a section of the retired top brass of three services, and rebel Congress leaders.

“Our main fight will be over corruption and economic revival. We will also unveil an aggressive foreign policy strategy vis-à-vis China and Pakistan,” said Arun Chakrabarty, the general secretary of the INC.

The group plans to formally launch the party on May 23, a day after the four years’ celebration of the UPA government.

“We have already identified 206 Lok Sabha seats to contest in 2014 election. We want to give a credible alternative to the Congress and the BJP to the people,” claimed Chakrabarty.
