Prompt move by three policemen of Delhi traffic police’s chase and challan squad ended with the arrest of two auto lifters and recovery of a motorcycle, within 20 minutes after it was stolen. The incident took place on Friday evening near the residential colony of Masjid Moth in south Delhi.

The three policemen — head constables Shyam Lal and Narendra and constable Omprakash — on two motorcycles chased the auto lifters, who were on the stolen bike. They had jumped a red light and weren’t wearing helmets.

They finally caught the offenders from a jungle inside Masjid Moth colony. “They had stolen the motorcycle from L Block, Mehrauli, about 20 minutes before it was recovered,” said Satyendra Garg, joint commissioner of police (traffic).
