Delhi Police have arrested the third accused in the murder of Greater Kailash 2-based builder Vinod Kumar Gupta. The arrest was made from Faridabad where the accused identified as Dilip, was hiding at his relative’s place.

“After committing the murder Dilip threw the phone in a drain. We took him to the drain and after an hour-long search we managed to recover phones. This would be a physical evidence to collaborate the sequence of events,” Ajay Chaudhry, additional commissioner of police (southeast) said. Police said Deepak, Sonu and Dilip were involved in killing of which Deepak was arrested from Delhi and Sonu was arrested from Pratapgarh, Uttar Pradesh.
“Raids were conducted at various places in Uttar Pradesh to nab Dilip and finally we got the information that he was hiding at a relative’s place in Palla village in Faridabad,” said a senior police officer requesting anonymity.
“On June 17, the day Gupta was killed, Sonu was in constant touch with him and they exchanged over a dozen calls. The investigation reveals Sonu, a native of Pratapgarh was in Delhi since Thursday and two of his friends were also with him,” the officer added.
Police said after committing the murder the trio immediately left for Pratapgarh but Deepak came back from Kanpur.
