A Delhi court on Friday took cognizance of a chargesheet filed against a man for allegedly trying to extort money from Anoushka, daughter of sitar maestro Pandit Ravi Shankar, and issue a production warrant against him.

Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Kaveri Baweja issued the warrant against Mumbai-based businessman Junaid Khan for November 27.

Khan who is at present lodged in Tihar jail here was alleged to have hacked the e-mail account of Anoushka to obtain her private photographs which he used to demand money.

Suleman Mohemmed Khan, counsel for accused denied all charges against him saying that Khan, a sub-dealer in a share trading firm in Mumbai, was using Wi-Fi network which might have been used by some unscrupulous elements to indulged in the offences.

According to the police, Khan, arrested from Mumbai on September 14, had allegedly used a broadband Internet connection to send threatening emails to Anoushka between May 11 and September 14 and demanded USD 1,22,000 in lieu of her private photographs obtained by hacking her emails.
