Heeding to an appeal by BJP President Nitin Gadkari, independent candidate Anshuman Mishra on Wednesday said he would withdraw his nomination papers on Thursday for the Rajya Sabha polls from Jharkhand.
"Abiding by the appeal by Nitin Gadkari, I will withdraw my nomination tomorrow," Mishra, a non-resident businessman, told reporters in Ranchi.
He had earlier said that he had no intention to withdraw from the race unless the party leadership directed him.
BJP leader Yashwant Sinha had objected to the party backing Mishra saying the seat was being auctioned.
Thursday is the last date for withdrawal of nomination.
