June 11 being the last day of forms submission at the Delhi University, students have been turning out in droves to deposit their forms.
As many as 19,253 forms were submitted on Thursday while 8,806 forms were sold. Students can submit forms from 10 am to 1 pm. The varsity will offer 54,000 seats at the undergraduate level.
On Thursday, the Faculty of Arts recorded the highest number of submissions followed by Shyam Lal College and the office of the Dean, Students' Welfare (DSW).
At the office of DSW, the submissions continued till evening. "Such high number of submissions is expected as the last date drwas closer. We may see an even higher number of submissions on the last day," said GS Tuteja, deputy dean, Students' Welfare.
Meanwhile, a case of producing forged marksheets was also reported from the office of DSW. "A reserved category student from Ghaziabad brought a forged marksheet but was caught as his roll number was not found in the CD provided by the state board," said Tuteja. The dean, Students' Welfare, has assured that necessary action will be taken against the student.
However, a number of SC/ST students from state boards could not apply as the boards did not provide a CD of the students' results.
