The controversy over army chief Gen VK Singh’s age is not yet over. Gen Singh said on Thursday that he had not yet decided whether he would resign to protect his honour over the date of birth (DoB) row.
On speculation that he might resign, Gen Singh said, “Please leave it to my judgement. I may decide on some action after I get time to think about it.”
He met the media ahead of the 64th Army Day (January 15).
Gen Singh has been battling for a change in his date of birth from May 10, 1950 to May 10, 1951, which could add almost a year to his tenure and change the army’s hierarchy.
Going by the present DoB, Gen Singh retires on May 31.
