The session of the assembly will begin on January 1 and the election of the Speaker and the deputy speaker has been fixed for January 3, a Delhi government press release said on Saturday after a meeting of the cabinet chaired by chief minister Arvind Kejriwal.
Earlier this week, Kejriwal was conveyed by Lt governor Najeeb Jung to Kejriwal to seek the confidence vote within seven days of his swearing in as chief minister.
