Self-styled godman Asaram's supporters gathered at Jantar Mantar in the national Capital to protest his arrest.

Enraged by his arrest, his supporters in Thane district, Maharashtra, stopped several trains at Ulhasnagar's railway tracks, official sources said.

Scores of Asaram's supporters staged a rail roko at around 12.30 pm, delaying local trains between the Kalyan-Karjat section for over half-an-hour, sources said.

Supporters of Asaram Bapu on Sunday also allegedly attacked the media persons, policemen and passers-by while staging a road blockade in Raipur to protest the arrest of the self-styled godman in a sexual assault case.

"A case has been registered against the attackers with Telibandha police station and soon they will be arrested," additional superintendent of police Lal Umed Singh told PTI.

A large number of Asaram's followers gathered at VIP square on NH-6 near his ashram in the VIP Road area in Raipur, and staged an hour long 'chakka-jam' this afternoon.

Asaram's supporters, including women, claimed he has been framed in a sexual assault case and accused media of not showing the truth.

Asaram was arrested by the Jodhpur Police after midnight from his ashram in Indore.

His arrest followed an FIR filed by a 16-year-old girl, alleging she was sexually assaulted by Asaram at his ashram in Jodhpur.
