Passengers flying with Kingfisher Airline had a tough time on Saturday morning when the baggage x-ray machine stopped working at the check-in counter of the domestic airport.
The airline staff manually checked the baggage of some passengers but had to ultimately let the passengers carry the baggage without check as the rush at the check-in counter increased.
“We had a tough time as the there was huge rush at the airline counter in the afternoon,” a passenger told Hindustan Times.
Kingfisher Airline officials, however, denied the malfunctioning of baggage x-ray machine at their check-in counter.
“It was working perfectly all right. There was absolutely no complaint. If the machine does not work, 100 per cent baggage checking has to be carried out and it will result in flight delay,” a Kingfisher spokesperson said.
The problem, said passengers, compounded due to festive rush as a large number of people were travelling on Saturday.
“There was little passenger traffic in the last few days. Due to festival, however, the traffic increased. Some passengers might have faced some problems due to rush,” said an airport official who did not wish to be named.
