Three men held the wife of a bank executive hostage at gun point and robbed her house in Paharganj in the wee hours of Thursday. Police said the victim, Dimple, was sleeping in her bedroom when the robbers struck.

“Her husband was not in the house and the balcony door of her first-floor house was open. We suspect that the robbers entered from the balcony,” a senior police officer said.

Dimple’s husband works with a private bank at Jhandewalan. The couple lives on the first floor house near the community centre. She told the police that around 4:30am on Thursday, she woke up to realise that three armed persons had entered her house.

“They tied her and threatened to kill her if she raised an alarm,” the officer added. She said the men took the keys of the almirah from her and ransacked the house.

Police said the robbers were in the house for over an hour and even had some food from the fridge before fleeing.

The victim somehow managed to free herself after two hours and informed her husband, who in turn informed the police.

She said cash and jewellery worth Rs 1.5 lakh were missing from the house.
