Nationalist Congress Party leader Ramvir Singh Bidhuri on Thursday said the list of 895 colonies — 312 on private land and 583 on government— issued by the Delhi government for regularisation is full of errors and should be withdrawn immediately.
Bidhuri demanded a high-level probe into the issue to know how the ‘wrong list’ got issued in the first place.
Bidhuri, a former MLA, alleged that a number of colonies that came up on private land have been “erroneously” categorised as colonies on government land.
“A high-level probe should be ordered to find out how the wrong list of colonies was approved for regularisation,” Bidhuri said.
The Delhi government had regularised 895 colonies on September 5.
He said that private agriculture land of farmers was not acquired and was vested with the gram sabha.
“This was in contrast to the orders issued by the Lieutenant Governor in 2007, defining various categories of land for regularisation of colonies,” he said.
Then Urban Development Minister Raj Kumar Chauhan had also written to the legislators in 2007 informing about the status and definition of the colonies, he said.
“However, this status and definition has also been violated by the government while issuing the regularisation order of 895 colonies,” Bidhuri added.
