A party thrown to celebrate the success of LK Advani's Jan Chetna Yatra and screening of a short film on it by his daughter Pratibha Advani had just a few BJP leaders attending it.
Though the patry, held at Advani's residence, was attended by leaders like Najma Heptullah and Ravi Shankar Prasad besides Karnataka chief minister Sadananda Gowda, most top leaders were conspicuous by their absence.
Incidentally, BJP president Nitin Gadkari and other senior leaders attended the party's core committee meeting in the morning.
The 38-day Jan Chetna Yatra against rising prices, corruption and black money, was flagged off on October 11 from Sitab Diara in Bihar, the birthplace of socialist leader Jayaprakash Narayan and ended at Delhi's Ramlila maidan on November 20.
Advani said this was his sixth Yatra, but received the best response so far. "I thought the first one was the best, but this one turned out to be the best," Advani said.
The 35-minute film created by Pratibha Advani strings together human moments, emotions, rhetoric and patriotic message which was the essence of Jan Chetna Yatra for creating public awakening on issues of corruption and blackmoney.
The film has snatches of countless rallies that Advani addressed through different parts of the country and captures moments when crowds gathered to listen to him.
The film is an attempt to capture the yatra, its genesis, ethos and its thought process shot mostly by Pratibha who travelled with her father.
She has also brought forth various facets of India and its people by showcasing the people from different cultures, some in their traditional attire, besides also folk dances which bring India closer to the viewer.
