The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) emissaries today met Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee to seek her support on the alleged coal blocks scam, only to be disappointed, according to sources.

BJP leaders Syed Shahnawaz Hussain and Rajiv Pratap Rudy met Banerjee Tuesday night in what was described by the BJP as a "chance meeting" at Delhi airport.
According to sources, the two BJP leaders asked Banerjee about her party's stand on the Comptroller and Auditor General's (CAG) report on coal block allocations. They sought the Trinamool Congress' support against the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government.
Banerjee, however, refused to ally with the opposition.
"Our party's stand is not decided yet," a Trinamool Congress leader said.
Banerjee is in Delhi to attend a coordination meeting of UPA allies.
Asked about the meeting with Banerjee, Hussain said: "It was a chance meeting as Mamata Banerjee has been a former colleague in the NDA."
BJP spokesperson Prakash Javadekar denied that the party was seeking support from the Trinamool Congress.
"We must keep meeting people," he said in a brief comment, saying he did not know the details of the meeting.
