The Delhi BJP has approached the home ministry, demanding removal of chief minister Sheila Dikshit for "failing" to sack one of her cabinet colleagues who was indicted by the Lokayukta in a case.
In a letter to home minister P Chidambaram, BJP state chief Vijender Gupta has demanded that Dikshit be removed along with PWD minister Raj Kumar Chauhan.
The Lokayukta had recommended removal of Chauhan for alleged misuse of office by intervening in a tax evasion case against a leading city resort.
Gupta in his letter also said that the reports of Shunglu Committee and CVC's Technical Committee on Commonwealth Games "confirm bungling of hundreds of crores by Delhi government".
He alleged that as Dikshit was herself "found guilty" in bungling in projects connected with the Games and she is now "trying to save" Chauhan.
