The 15th anniversary of the demolition of Babri Masjid cast its shadow on both Houses of the Parliament.

The 15th anniversary of the demolition of Babri Masjid cast its shadow on Parliament on Thursday with both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha adjourning for an hour minutes after they assembled for the day.

Samajwadi Party members in both Houses stormed the well demanding prosecution of those involved in the demolition of the Babri mosque on December six, 1992.

BJP members countered shouting slogans 'Mandir Wahi Banayenge' (we will build the temple there - the disputed site). They also chanted 'Jai Shri Ram'.

In the Lok Sabha, Speaker Somnath Chatterjee adjourned the House within two minutes.

It was a similar story in the Upper House. After Chairman Hamid Ansari's repeated pleas for calm went unheeded, he adjourned the House till noon.
