BSY keeps up with tantrums, defies BJP order
BS Yeddyurappa refused to bow to BJP summons for him to come to Delhi and former Karnataka chief minister's loyal MLAs demanded that party top brass should meet him in Bangalore. Yeddy mounts pressure | Crisis will be resolved: Jaitleydelhi Updated: Mar 20, 2012 15:14 IST
As BS Yeddyurappa's deadline to be reinstated as chief minister of Karnataka ends, the BJP leadership faces more troubles.
The former chief minister on Tuesday refused to bow to BJP's summons to him to Delhi as loyal MLAs demanding that party top brass should meet him in Bangalore.
Basawaraj Bommai of the BSY camp announced the decision of boycotting the state assembly sessions. He said that ministers like Jagadish Shettar, CM Udasi and Bellad would attend the session as the assembly would pay their last tributes to Dr VS Acharya, the minister who passed away recently.
But, he hinted that they would boycott the session on Wednesday when CM DV Sadananda Gowda would table the state budget. He said that they are waiting for positive response from the high command by Tuesday evening.
The suspension of BG Puttaswamy from the party on Monday for filing rebel candidature for the Rajyasabha MP election is also a strong indication from the high command. State BJP president KS Eshwarappa also issued notice to ten MLAs who proposed Puttaswamy’s candidature against the party’s will.
