Cab driver arrested for abandoning 3-year-old

Sector 24 police arrested on Wednesday the Mother's Pride school cab driver, who had abandoned a 3-year-old child half way and child was injured. HT reports.

Sector 24 police arrested on Wednesday the Mother's Pride school cab driver, who had abandoned a 3-year-old child half way and child was injured. In the wake of the incident, City Magistrate ordered District Inspector of Schools to conduct checks at all Noida play schools to see whether safety measures are followed in cabs.

“On the complaint of Sector 61 resident Satyavrat Ghosh, cab driver Ajay Kumar ... was arrested today afternoon and sent to jail under IPC sections 279 and 337. Punishment under each section is imprisonment for 6 months,” said G.K. Jayant, SHO, Sector 24 police station.

The SHO said that the father had said in the complaint that Kumar had abandoned Ghosh’s daughter, Raina at Kanchanju-nga apartment on August 16.
