Getting high marks is not the only way to get into Delhi University, with the varsity offering as many as nine undergraduate courses in which students can get admission through an entrance test.
The online registration process for these courses will be separate from the rest of the courses for which admission will be based on cutoffs.
Delhi University this year will conduct entrance tests for nine subjects, including Bachelor of Management Studies (BMS), BA Business Economics and Bachelor of Business Administration (financial investment analysis).
The online registration process for these courses will start on May 31. The last date for filling the form and the entrance test dates are yet to be announced.
“There are around 1,600 seats in undergraduate courses in which entrance test are conducted,” said an official.
Till last year the university used to conduct entrance test for only eight undergraduate courses. But this year the administration has decided to conduct entrance tests for BA (honours) Music as well.
Officials said the details regarding entrance test dates will be announced soon.
For the rest of the undergraduate courses, in which admission will be based on cutoffs, the online registration process will start from May 22.
For postgraduate and research courses, the online registration will also start from May 31. “Admission to postgraduate courses, MPhil and PhD will begin from May 31,” said an official.
DU registrar Tarun Das had said that the registration process for all programmes and categories will be online this year. “The eligible applicants are informed that the registration process of all the programmes will be completely online including Sports, Extra Curricular Activities (ECA), Kashmiri Migrants, CW (Defence), and PwD categories,” Das said.
Das said the details of registration process and subsequent procedure will be available in a bulletin of information, which will be uploaded online soon on www.du.ac.in.
