Faculties of various colleges and institutions conducted seminars on their respective courses and answered queries giving students a better insight about various courses including engineering.
Institutes like the Princeton Review, Aakash and FIITJEE put up stalls in the school hall. The event was an enriching and informative step for career planning.
Navy Children School, Chanakyapuri, celebrated its annual function recently. The theme of the day was "Unsung Heroes". The chief guest for the occasion was admiral Nirmal Verma, chief of naval staff and his wife Madhulika Verma.
The cultural journey saw a participation of 900 students. The evening started with the ceremonious invocation followed by the 'Myriads Rediscovered', celebrating the spirit of the common man.
'Lok Akriti' showcased the dedicated contribution of the rural artisans.
The audience witnessed the rich Indian heritage in the form of handicrafts and paintings.'Ragini' the amalgamation of Kathak, Odissi and Bharatnatyam through'Raga Malkaus', one of the oldest ragas in Indian classical music left the crowd mesmerised . 'Free Rein' thrilled the audience recalling the indigenous sports and games that generations of Indians have grown up playing.
'Anveshan' brought forth a delightful tour to the land of science and 'Muktchhand' was in honour of the unsung writers and poets who have been penning down in obscurity. 'The Banyan Tree', 'Chase the Puri' and 'The Ghost Writer' captivated the audience and evoked an overwhelming response. Principal Ruma Purkayastha presented the Annual School Report for the academic session 2010-11. The chief guest appreciated and congratulated the students and those behind the tremendous success of the event.
Vikas Bharati Public School, Rohini, celebrated its annual day 'Mosaic 2011', which was inaugurated by the chief guest Jasvir Singh, IPS, DIG (training).
The programme began with the dance performance based on the life of Lord Krishna followed by the Hindi play 'Prakriti aur Hum'. The grand finale was the depiction of nine rasaas by the students of Class 6 to 11.
The annual report of the school was presented by principal S Premlatha and the prizes were distributed by the chief guest and chairman Anoop Singh Solanki.
Hillwoods Academy, Preet Vihar, celebrated XVI Annual Sports Meet at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. Delhi education, transport and sports minister Arvinder Singh was the chief guest and Zafar Iqbal, former hockey captain was the guest of honour.
The programme included a march past, guard of honour, and band and drill displays.
The first copy of the school souvenir 'Expressions 2011' was released by the chief guest.
