Three cargo loaders were arrested with 104 Chinese mobile phones of worth Rs 1.50 lakh that they had allegedly stolen from the Domestic Cargo IGI Airport.
The IGI Airport Police arrested Pramod Kumar Jha, Mohan Singh and Vinod Kumar in the case. O.P. Mishra, Deputy Commissioner of Police (IGI), said, "Jha and Singh were working as loaders with Shakti Cargo and Logistics while Kumar was the driver of a cargo van. We have recovered 50 mobile phones each, which were in the possession of Jha and Singh while four mobile phones were with Kumar."
According to police, the trio had allegedly managed to steal a polythene bag containing 106 Chinese mobile phones from the cargo area of the airport on Friday last week.
Mishra added that Kumar transported mobile phones out in a cargo van from the cargo area of the airport. "The role of various agencies deployed at the gate and cargo complex is being investigated," said Mishra. The cargo van used in transporting the stolen mobile phones has also been recovered. A case had been registered.
