Hours after the news became public that the Central Bureau of Investigation’s (CBI) filed a closure report in the Aarushi-Hemraj double murder case, the online community reacted strongly against the decision. Social networking sites were full of messages, slamming the agency for shoddy work.
One of the webpages on Facebook got more than 400 comments in less than two hours after it was created to garner response from online community on the issue.
Slamming the agency and comparing the investigating agency to a popular detective series on a TV channel, a member of a social networking site said: “Call Daya and ACP Pradyuman, they will solve the case and these people should join Sony TV.”
Abhilasha Singh said on Facebook: “Closes the case? And what is the reason given - insufficient evidence? It is the duty and responsibility of the CBI to have (sic) evidence. The CBI needs to learn something from FBI.”
However, there were some sympathetic views for the CBI, too. “CBI cannot do anything without the evidence, when the case was given to CBI, the evidence by that time was either destroyed or were manipulated. Moreover the crime scene was also damaged, so you cannot even expect Scotland Yard to solve cases without any proper evidences,” said Mohit Garg.
“It is very sad that the CBI has filed a closure report,” said Manandeep Singh Chatwal on a webpage created to demand justice for Aarushi Talwar.
