The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is likely to submit by May 23 its chargesheet related to alleged irregularities in the award of the Timing, Scoring & Results (TSR) contract to a Swiss firm by the Commonwealth Games Organising Committee.

The chargesheet is likely to name as accused Suresh Kalmadi, former chairman of the Organising Committee, who was arrested by the agency last month.

"Our probe in this case is largely over. We have the requisite evidence, apart from two witness statements recorded before the court by two OC officials that will be admissible," said an agency source who was not authorised to talk.

A CBI team recently quizzed the Swiss firm's officials in Switzerland to seek their version/s in the case, apart from grilling officials attached to its two Indian sub-contractors.

According to the CBI probe's findings, the accused OC officials had conspired to eliminate or restrict bidders to allegedly favour the Swiss firm, Swiss Timing-Omega in the award of the Rs107 crore deal. The accused persons had allegedly overlooked the bid offer of Rs48 crore made by Spain's MSL Software.
