Chadha's expansion into transport biz

Adie Broswon Corporation, Gurdeep Singh (Ponty) Chadha's group of companies, was slowly establishing as a player in transport business too. HT reports.

Of 320-odd orange-coloured private buses being run under five clusters in Delhi, Chadha's company A.B. Grain Spirits Private Limited (Transport Corporation) run more than 200 buses under clusters 3, 4 and 5. Both the front and rear windscreen of cluster buses run by this company have stickers with Adie Broswon printed on it.

According to a Delhi government official, Ponty Chadha had himself shown interest in diversifying into transport business when the transport department conceived cluster bus scheme five years ago. The department divided 657 bus routes in 17 groups and called them clusters. The department also decided to give each cluster to one private entity.
