Confusion about distribution of registration forms for nursery admission reached a peak after Sanskriti School changed its dates following a circular by the Delhi Directorate of Education (DoE). There was a flurry of calls by parents to various schools to confirm the dates already published.
“Initially, Sanskriti School had notified November 10 as the date of issue of registration forms. But soon after they changed it to December 15-31,” said Sanjay Singh, a parent.
Singh said the change happened after the DoE circular asking schools to distribute forms from December 15-31.
“Although Sanskriti School changed the dates, we are not sure if all schools will follow. Since no school is ready to comment, we have to monitor schools individually,” said Singh.
Some schools said they would be following their own schedule. “The circular states clearly that in case schools are following their own schedule, they have to inform the DoE before December 15. We have advised all schools who are members of the National Progressive Schools Conference (NPSC) to begin admission procedure by December 1,” said S.L. Jain, chairperson, NPSC.
Director Education Chandrabhushan Kumar said schools were expected to follow a uniform calendar.
“We will talk to schools which have already started the process. But those who have not begun should follow a similar calendar,” said Kumar.
