On Wednesday, in a meeting with select airlines and DIAL, the civil aviation ministry reportedly expressed its displeasure over the matter of missing the deadline. The airlines then asked the ministry for an extension as they would need more trials.
Earlier in March, secretary of civil aviation Nasim Zaidi had fixed May 1 as the deadline for the value-added services for the airport expressline. These services are expected to give tremendous boost to the success of the new metro line. Zaidi also had asked the airlines to start trial runs of these services in the metro stations from March 25.
