The Ddelhi High Court on Monday extended police protection to the daughter and son-in-law of Telugu megastar Chiranjeevi for another two weeks after it was informed that there was a delay in getting security for the couple in Hyderabad.

After the court’s earlier directions, Chiranjeevi’s advocate Maninder Singh intimated the court about the actor’s reassurance of causing no harm to the couple in case they return to Hyderabad.

Singh placed the actor’s letter written to the couple’s advocate, Pinky Anand, in which he has promised all help and blessings to the couple.

Singh refuted the allegations made against Chiranjeevi and said the actor addressed the letter to the advocate since the couple is living with her.

Extending police protection to the couple for another two weeks, Justice Dhingra disposed of the petition, turning down the petitioner’s request to keep it pending. The judge, however, gave liberty to the couple to approach the court in the future. He also turned down their advocate’s plea to direct the couple’s parents to receive the new-weds at the airport.
