The Central Central Information Commissioner (CIC) has asked its officials to come up with a report to tabulate the information about the implementation of its orders.
The CIC has been worried whether its orders were being strictly adhered to or not.
Vijay Pal Singh, a resident of Loni Road in Shahdara, had filed a petition, seeking information about the non-compliance of several orders passed by the CIC.
Observing that ordinarily the appellant was expected to make a “specific complaint in respect of non-compliance of orders for his case”, CIC Satyananda Mishra said: “He (Singh) has drawn attention to the non-compliance of several of its orders. It is now incumbent on the commission to find out if indeed the orders passed by it continue to be ignored and not complied with.”
Mishra, on March 25, then directed the central public information officer to “tabulate the available information in regard to the compliance of these orders in the form of a report”.
Months before the first CIC Wajahat Habibullah retired from the commission, he had put in place a system authorising the commission’s secretary to monitor cases of non-compliance.
