The minimum temperature inched up in the capital on Tuesday bringing some respite for Delhiites who have been reeling under severe cold wave conditions.

The minimum at 5.5 degrees was higher than on Monday's 3.8 degrees though still five degrees less than normal, the met office said.

The maximum temperature was recorded at 21 degree celsius, which is two degrees less than the normal.

The chilly conditions are attributed to the snowfall in the hilly regions of the northern states, including Jammu and Kashmir.

The capital had been experiencing intense cold conditions since January 20 with the minimum and maximum temperatures remaining many notches below normal.
