A row over colony gates landed a 31-year-old man in hospital in Chittaranjan Park of southeast Delhi late on Wednesday.

Anuj Gupta, a marketing professional was allegedly beaten up by two security guards posted at E block in CR Park when he reportedly wanted to enter the colony through one of the locked gates. Gupta alleged the guards even set two dogs on him.

Police said they had arrested the two guards - Bhaskar Halder (35) and Hari Ram (55).

The incident was reported on Wednesday midnight when Gupta was returning to his E block home after attending a wedding reception with his parents.

“This is a pertinent problem here. There are eight entry points but barring this one all of them are closed after 11 pm. Due to the tussle between two RWAs the entry to this particular lane was also blocked as an additional barricade had been put up. I was in my car. There was no other way I could have entered my colony. When I protested and wanted to enter, the guards beat me up” said Gupta, a resident of E Block.

A case of hurt, illegal confinement and negligent conduct with respect to animals has been registered at CR Park police station.
