Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Director AP Singh on Tuesday expressed concern about the autonomy of the agency but said he didn't have any objections to being under the lokpal.

Coming out of a meeting with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, the CBI director told reporters that there were concerns about the agency's autonomy. When asked whether there were any objections about the investigation wing being under the proposed Lokpal, he said: "No".

He clarified, however, that there were objections to dividing the agency as recommended by the report of the parliamentary standing committee headed by Congress leader Abhishek Manu Singhvi.

The meeting came before an all-party meet to thrash out the lokpal issue. The government had also held a meeting with its allies Tuesday and arrived at a "broad consensus".
