“The internal security of the country is today threatened by two ‘A’s – Advani and Abhinav Bharat,” Congress spokesman Veerappa Moily said.
Accusing BJP leader L.K. Advani of setting the first instance of political interference in the country in a terror-related case, he added a new charge against Advani – outsourcing terror. “It has now come to light that members of Abhinav Bharat met Bangladeshi nationals in Kolkata in February 2008,” Moily said.
Claiming it was the first time a nexus between terrorists and a political party was being probed, Moily stated that such linkages had prompted Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to consider an anti-terror task force. He said that although Advani and Narendra Modi had earlier hailed the arrest of some persons for their role in the Modasa blast, they attacked professional organisations like the Maharashtra ATS and CBI when the Malegaon blast probe showed the involvement of other outfits.
