The Congress has named former mayor Farhat Suri the leader of the opposition in south Delhi municipal corporation. While Mukesh Goel has been named Congress leader of north Delhi, Varyam Kaur was elected the leader of the east Delhi MCD.

NGOs, groups against split
Advocacy group People's Action and URJA on Saturday met Delhi Congress chief JP Agarwal requesting a review of the trifurcation of the municipal corporation saying that multiplicity of authorities in the city will create more confusion.
