BJP today claimed that Congress has made a "laughing stock" of itself for its failure to announce candidates for North-East and South Delhi Lok Sabha constituencies after withdrawal of Jagdish Tytler and Sajjan Kumar.

"Congress has made itself a laughing stock among the electors for its failure to select a replacement of Jagdish Tytler and Sajjan Kumar from North-East and South Delhi Lok Sabha constituencies," Delhi BJP President O P Kohli told reporters.

Kohli made the statement while he was accompanying the party's candidate from South Delhi Lok Sabha constituency, Ramesh Bidhuri, when he went to file his nomination.

On the absence of Arun Jaitley and Pravesh Varma, son of late BJP leader Sahib Singh Varma, he said Jaitley could not come due to some of his prior engagements.

He also alleged that Congress does not have any respect for sentiments of the Sikh's community.

"If they have any respect for their sentiments, they would not have declared Sajjan Kumar and Jagdish Tytler as its candidate even after CBI gave them a clean chit," Kohli added.
