Cong interested only in stable govt in J&K: Chavan
Congress today said it was only interested in giving Jammu & Kashmir the "most stable government" and that it was even ready to provide outside support, if necessary.
Congress on Sunday said it was only interested in giving Jammu and Kashmir the "most stable government" and that it was even ready to provide outside support, if necessary.
AICC General Secretary Prithviraj Chavan said in no way a stable government can be "conceived or considered" in Jammu and Kashmir without the participation of Congress.
"The Congress is only interested in giving the state of Jammu and Kashmir the most stable government. Whichever or whatever combination is able to give the most stable government in the interest of state, we will support even if it meant staying outside the government," Chavan said.
The Congress which won four seats and leading in 12 constituencies is likely to emerge as a key party in the government formation in the state.
The Congress and the PDP ruled the state more than five years and in the fag end of their tenure, PDP pulled out of the coalition over the Amarnath land row.
