Congress on Friday ridiculed BJP's assertion that Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi could be the its prime ministerial candidate in the next elections.

"First one has to get rid of this one (L K Advani, BJP's prime ministerial candidate), then think of the next one," party spokesman Kapil Sibal told reporters in New Delhi.

At Ahmedabad, former union minister and BJP's Rajya Sabha MP Arun Shourie said, "Gujarat has the opportunity to elect PM this time and next time also you will have the opportunity to elect the PM from this state."
