The Congress saw a “BJP conspiracy” in the attack, accusing the main opposition party of resorting to such “desperate tactics on seeing its certain defeat” in polls in five states.
“Prima facie, the facts that are here make it clear that it is the handiwork of our political opponents, including not only BJP but also the other peripheral elements, which are trying to promote BJP's agenda. It's clear that our political opponents have lost cool and become desperate as they have no confusion about their imminent defeat in the Assembly polls in the five states but they should have fought politically not this way,” party spokesperson Abhishek Singhvi said.
"This is a very unfortunate conspiracy," Singhvi said accusing the BJP of doing "cheap politics" out of "utter frustration" and thereby undermining democratic polity.
He said Congress has seen far bigger forces in the past trying in far more obstructive manner to do such things but the party has always emerged successful.
