In what appears to be battle preparedness for the next Lok Sabha elections, the Congress has called 'Samvad Baithak' (dialogue session) on November 9 at Surajkund on the outskirts of Delhi.
Top leaders, including Congress president Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, working committee members, party office-bearers, cabinet ministers and ministers of state with independent charge would deliberate on the current political and economic situation and also discuss the implementation of the 2009 poll manifesto.
Announcing this, general secretary Janardan Dwivedi said the first of its kind meeting would be informal and no resolution will be passed after the deliberations.
The brain storming-cum-introspection session that will be held soon after the November 4 rally in Delhi is being viewed as the attempt by the leadership to put the party in the poll mode.
