Medanta — The Medicity, where anti-corruption crusader Anna Hazare was admitted on Sunday after his 12-day fast, has been put under three-tier security cover by the city police.
The premises will be under strict surveillance of police personnel as well as private security guards deployed by the hospital authorities.
Only patients and their attendants would be allowed inside while Anna supporters would be barred.
Gurgaon police commissioner SS Deswal and the chairman and managing director, Medanta, Dr Naresh Trehan, reviewed security arrangements.
To restrict unwanted visitors, the hospital management has given a list of patients to the security guards. They have been instructed to allow only patients and their attendants inside. Relatives of patients may have to face strict checking for the next few days.
"Policemen have been deployed along with the hospital's security guards at the main gate, inside the premises and near the OPD lifts number 24-29, as Anna is admitted on 13th floor," said Trehan.
"We are not going to leave an iota of error and have been cooperating with the hospital management to keep unwanted elements out of the premises for next three days or till Anna is admitted here. We are doing our best to ensure patients do not face any problem. But they will have to go through security checks,” said Deswal.
