Chandra Vibhash, the 31-year-old doctor arrested on Tuesday for killing his wife, would have never thought that his more than 1,400-kilometre-long drive for dumping his wife's body will be his final journey to Allahabad in UP.

A team of west Delhi police ,on Wednesday, took Vibhash, a surgeon with Deen Dayal Upadhayay (DDU) hospital, to Allahabad to identify the spot where he had dumped his wife, Supriya Tushar's body in a travel bag. He had dumped the travel bag near a bridge in the Handia area in Allahabad.

V Renganathan, additional commissioner of police (west) said, “The spot which he showed to our team matched with the place from where the UP police had discovered Supriya's body stuffed in the travel bag," said Renganathan.

“The post-mortem of the body has been conducted at Swaroop Rani Nehru Hospital in Allahabad. We will hand over the body to her family members. The report confirms strangulation caused the death.”

Police sources said Vibhash had stopped his i-10 car on the Shastri Bridge to throw the bag but did not after he heard the siren of a patrolling car.

“He then reached Bagha overbridge, Handia, and mistook it to be a Ganga Bridge. He disposed of the body around 2am .”
