Fearing Nagma Khan, a pimp who was arrested by south district police last week for running an inter-city prostitution racket, would come out on bail and again start the racket, Delhi police is planning to slap Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) against her.
Police are currently trying to get details of sections imposed against her when she was arrested earlier.
One of the three main criteria to slap MCOCA against a criminal is his/her involvement in previous cases.
"If in the last two cases she was convicted for three or more years, we will be able to slap MCOCA against her. She has built property from ill gotten money and this would be an added factor," said a senior police officer requesting anonymity.
He said the police are also examining whether she has trafficked any minor girl into the prostitution racket.
"Currently she can come out on bail easily as the charges against her are not severe. But we want her to be behind bars for as long as possible. We have sent teams to Pune and Mumbai to get more proof against her," the officer added.
The police will also need to prove that she was running a syndicate to get her under MCOCA.
"This won't be difficult as seven persons were arrested for running the racket. We need three criteria to slap MCOCA and that is why the chargesheet in previous two cases are important," the officer added.
Nagma Khan (27), whose parents are settled in Saudi Arabia, is the gang leader and was currently operating from two flats that she owns in the posh Chhatarpur Enclave area of the city.
"Khan, who speaks fluent English, has a network of girls that she operated across three cities, including Pune and Mumbai besides Delhi. Used to a luxurious lifestyle, she usually celebrates her new years abroad and has been arrested by the Delhi Police twice earlier for immoral trafficking," the officer added.
