A controversy ridden build-up notwithstanding, Grandmaster Pravin Thipsay and former table tennis player Kamlesh Mehta today hoped Delhi would host a successful Commonwealth Games.

"It is not a good atmosphere and whatever has happened is unfortunate. But organisation of the Games in the country is a boon. Sportspersons are not concerned about the controversy but only about their performance. They are playing for the country," said Thipsay.
