India’s most wanted terrorist Dawood Ibrahim is still in Pakistan, sources told HT.

On Friday, Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s key aide Shahryar Khan claimed that Dawood had left Pakistan and is now in the UAE. Though, Khan retracted from his statement within 24 hours, it was a first admission by a Pakistani official about Dawood’s presence there. But security sources say Dawood will never leave Pakistan as it the safest place for him. Investigators say the recent Delhi police charge sheet into the IPL spot fixing scandal also makes it clear that Dawood and his key henchman Chota Shakeel are very much in Pakistan and they were controlling the betting and fixing syndicate from Karachi.

“The Delhi police managed to intercept phone conversations of Dawood Ibrahim with Javed Chutani who was in Dubai. Witnesses have clearly identified it as the voice of Dawood Ibrahim,” said an investigator.

According to the charge sheet, Dawood was using a Pakistani number +92333206**** for controlling betting in the IPL.
